About Stefanya!
Passionate, Playful and Unique, Stefanya is an exotic flower, blooming with every beat in rhythm. She is an acclaimed choreographer, award-winning performer, and sought-after instructor. 

Stefanya is also the owner of the Los Angeles Bellydance Academy, a principal cast member of the world-famous Bellydance Superstars, and the dance director of the Adam Basma Dance Company. She can be seen on screen in numerous national and international commercial campaigns, television shows, and films. Stefanya has appeared live on stage with fellow artists such as Tom Delong, supermodel Heidi Klum, and talk show star Kelly Rippa. 

Taking dance to new heights, Stefanya made headlines as a featured stilt dancer in the world premiere of “Stilt World” and in the Bellydance Superstars’ stage production “Raqs Carnival”. Performing internationally as an ensemble member and solo artist, Stefanya has graced the stage in more than twenty-five countries in some of the world’s most prestigious venues. 

Stefanya is the owner of the LA Bellydance Academy, a one of a kind dance studio in the heart of Los Angeles, California. The LABA is an instructional brand committed to education, motivation, and assisting all artists in achievement of their personal dance goals. Weekly classes include belly dance, Tahitian dance, yoga fusion, Arabic Folkloric dance, and drumming. The studio hosts all dancers in all stages of their dance development. As she performed across the globe, 

it was her style and finesse that caught the eye of renowned producer Miles Copeland in 2004 and she immediately began performing with the world famous “Bellydance Superstars.” This professional dance experience of over eight hundred shows in more than twenty-five countries provided Stefanya the tools and motivation needed to move forward passionately and with insight and professionalism. She has produced multiple successful events, including “Allah Kushnir LIVE in Los Angeles”, “Club Bellydance L.A.”, and the “Arabic Arts Festival”. Stefanya’s goal is to unite dancers in celebration of truth and life through the love of dance.

Arabic Dance Technique Workshop

This class is designed to take the Intermediate and Advanced dancer to the next level in their performance quality. While covering ballet/modern fundamental techniques, the class will also focus on the details of bellydance such as hands, arms, and lower back to enhance the dancers presence and grace. Emphasis on correct body posture and positioning to improve access to the core muscles will be the main study of this class. Every class will consist of barre work, center turns, and stretching. 1.5 hr / all levels welcome

Malaya Lef Workshop

Students will learn a signature Los Angeles Bellydance Academy routine in its entirety while expressing theatrically in the dance. This is a character dance done by Egyptian folk dance companies using the long black shawl as a prop. The dancer plays the roll of a mischievous young woman who flirtatiously plays games with her wrap. This workshop will offer an introduction to the Malaya Lef dance and give the dancers a choreography to perform. Dancers will have to supply their own malayas and have a basic level of raqs sharki (bellydance) movements. 2 hr / all levels welcome

Belly-Samba Fusion Workshop

This fusion dance choreography workshop will introduce basic samba steps and condition the body. From the country of Brazil, the lively rhythmical dance called Samba combines with the hypnotic movements of raqs sharki to create an energetic fusion dance. The fire within you will burn as you learn basic samba steps and samba dance styling to a quick-paced fusion choreography. All dancers will leave the class having acquired a few new samba moves and with a feeling of accomplishment after a great workout. 2 hr / all levels welcome

Oriental Opening with Veil Workshop
Students will learn a signature Los Angeles Bellydance Academy routine in its entirety while expressing a passionate dynamic character. In this class, the dancer will learn a complete choreography to the song "Gawaly" by Issam Houshan. It is a dramatic, emotional piece that works great for opening a show. Students will be asked to bring their own veils and to have an intermediate understanding of raqs sharki and a mastery of basic dance techniques. The class will be quick paced throughout the drilling and choreography sections to work the dancer’s skills at picking up and then performing choreography. 2.5 hr / intermediate and advanced dancers welcome.
